Louise D. Ferguson, known to all who loved her as "Weezy", passed into eternal life on June 7, 2017, in Hampton, VA, at the age of 90.
She was born on February 14, 1927 to the late Henry and Anna Karsten in Sauk Centre, MN and spent the majority of her life in Hampton, VA. She was married in 1951 to John M. Ferguson until he passed away in 1984.
Outgoing and friendly, Louise worked for over thirty-five years as a waitress at various local restaurants including Eli's and later Fergie's which she co-owned with John until his untimely death. Upon retirement, Louise devoted herself to caring for her beloved only son, Keith M. Ferguson. Louise provided all necessary support and encouragement that enabled him to graduate from college. She then proudly provided transportation and support for him in his working career.
Louise enjoyed socializing with friends, playing bingo, and watching NASCAR races. She led a rewarding and fulfilling life and her strength is an inspiration to us all.
Left to cherish Louise's memory is her devoted and loving son, Keith; sister, Arlene Hughes of Florida; beloved niece, Faye Knickmeier of Las Vegas and a host of her son's friends that she welcomed into her home.
Louise was predeceased in death by her sisters, Martha Brehm, Kathryn Callahan, Frieda Tank, Lorraine Gamradt and brother, Carl Karsten.
The family would like to thank Deloris Williams who provided care for her the last few months.
The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home with a celebration of Louise's life to begin at 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
