William F. Amberg

William "Bill" F. Amberg, 89, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, September 22, 2024. He was born in El Reno, Oklahoma on January 12, 1935 to the late Bert F. and Blanche E. (Brady) Amberg. Bill and wife, Kathryn, were Baptist missionaries in Jamaica and Puerto Rico for 36 years. In 2013, they founded Lighthouse Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where Bill was known as Pastor Amberg. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family playing table games, a good conversation, and small world stories. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Baker) Amberg; daughter, Kim (Pat) Miller; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Joel Amberg. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the Lighthouse Baptist Church on 2793 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, 46815 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill's memory may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
