Von Richard Grogg Sr

Von Richard Grogg Sr., 83, passed away peacefully at home on June 9, 2021. He was born on November 11, 1937 in Fort Wayne, IN, the son of the late Von Delbert Grogg and Geraldine Grogg. After 20 years in the Navy, he retired as a gunner mate, first class. He then worked for Parker Hannifin Corporation for 28 years before retirement. He was a member of VFW post 1421 and American Legion Post 241. In his spare time he enjoyed watching western's and war movies, and playing solitaire and Bingo. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Concetta Grogg; children, Annette Grogg, Maria Sabanski, Kimberly Sampson, Sheri (Lynn) Shaffer, Von (Tonya) Grogg Jr., Cassandra Grogg, Charles (Ashley) Grogg; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Emerick and Colleen Groh; and brother, Michael Grogg. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 11 am with calling 1 hour prior at D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46807. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 also at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions maybe made to American Legion Post 241 or Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.
