Vera G. Wenger

Vera G. Wenger, 94, of Angola, Indiana, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 2, 2024. She was born August 5, 1929 in Dodge City, Kansas. Vera came to Fort Wayne after high school graduation and attended Lutheran School of Nursing. She later graduated from Purdue University with a degree in nursing. Her 60 years of nursing included Nurse Manager for Dr. Kermit Perrin’s Family Practice until his retirement, many years at Parkview Hospital, then Urgent Care in Angola, where she retired at age 81. She has lived many years at Crooked Lake, Angola, spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed watching sports (Colts and Cubs), playing cards, doing puzzles, and observing lake activities. She was a lifetime member and organist at Parkwood Church of God. She is survived by her children, Linda Brager, Betty (Ernie) Edgar, Bonnie Clevenger, David Wenger, Danny Wenger, and Kim Bair; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; siblings, Donna Caulkins and Melvin Houser; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Robert “Bob” R. Wenger; sons-in-laws Ed Brager, John Clevenger, and Craig Bair; grandson, Chad Brager; parents, Ira and Goldie Houser; siblings, JoAnn Caulkins, Eldon Houser, and Nelda McNary. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Friday June 7, 2024 at Parkwood Church of God, 3320 Trier Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2-8 pm Thursday June 6, 2024, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN. Burial at Lindenwood Cemetery.
