Richard F. Hoffman, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed away on August 23, 2016. Born on August 12, 1935, in Columbus Grove, Ohio, he was a son of the late Alfred and Rosalia (nee Siebeneck) Hoffman. A member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Fort Wayne; he proudly served his country in the Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #409; he attained a Bachelors degree from the University of Dayton in 1960 and then went on to receive a Masters degree from Purdue University in 1964; He retired in 2000, from Magnavox/Hughes/Raytheon after 40 years of service as an electrical engineer. He enjoyed genealogy and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn Hoffman; children, JoEllen Hoffman, of Charlotte, NC, Paula Hoffman, of Boston, MA, Mary Green, Richard (Mary) Hoffman and Jean (Chris) Hoffman, all of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Nick Kohn, Alec & Andrew Green, Evan & Garrett Hoffman and Chase, Reece & Nolan Hoffman; siblings, Donald, Kathleen, Ann, John, Janet, Norbert, Eugene and Alfred Jr. He was also preceded in death by his brother Dennis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am Saturday August 27, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2155 Randallia Drive, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, Friday August 26, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to the Allen County SPCA.
