Nicole Furness Berg (Brenda Nicole Furness)
Age 57, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, fell asleep on May 7, 2024, and awaits the return of her lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
Nicole was born October 23, 1966, in San Francisco. She graduated from Vintage High School in Napa, California, and attended Napa Valley College studying theater. She was an Advanced Class graduate of the Power for Abundant Living Class and counted that class series as the greatest learning she ever accomplished. Her life’s journey included living stops in Napa, Long Island, Oceanside, Albuquerque, and Fort Wayne.
Nicole worked as a receptionist, an IT specialist at Honeywell, a teaching assistant in Fort Wayne Community Schools (Brentwood and Arlington) and her favorite, a homemaker. She enjoyed making signs, crafts, studying the Bible, meeting, and serving people. She excelled in hospitality and never met a stranger. She was a member of the Lion’s Club Chapel Ridge, Fort Wayne Turners, North Side High School family, Thursday Afternoon Women’s Fellowship group, and attended fellowship with The Way Ministry.
Nicole was married to David Berg on August 9, 2003, in Fort Wayne. She is survived by her husband, David; son, Luke; stepdaughter, Zoe; father and stepmother, Paul and Joyce Furness; brothers-in-law, Steve Berg, Frank Berg, and Kim Wheeler; sisters-in-law, Carol Staley, and Sarah Robinson; twenty nieces and nephews, great-nieces/nephews, as well countless friends, and family that she considered dear to her.
Nicole was preceded in death by her mother, Nina Osterlye; brother, Keith Furness; in-laws, Frank and Bernice Berg; and sister in-law, Phyllis Wheeler.
An Open House will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at 1:00 pm, a recognition service at 3:00 pm at Turner’s, 3636 Parnell Ave., Fort Wayne, Indiana 46805.
