Nathan Eugene “Nate” Dawkins, 54, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022. Nate was married since 1993 to Tammy J. Dawkins, who survives. He served our country as a Sergeant in the US Army Reserve in the late 1980’s. He worked as a truck driver for Nabisco/Mondelez for a total of 25 years, and was a member and representative for the Teamsters #414 Union. He was an avid Texas Tech, IU, and Colts fan. Nate was a family man and loved spending time and making memories with his kids and grandkids. Nate enjoyed golfing, bowling, and camping with his beloved dog, Raidar. Nathan was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son. In addition to his wife, Nate is survived by his daughter, Nanci Pilkinton; son, Kyle (Krista) Pilkinton; son, David (Allison) Pilkinton; daughter, Tabitha (Miguel) Garbison; eight grandkids, his “Papal babies”; mother, Mary Pelz; sisters, Katherine (Tim) Freeman, Kris Kunberger, Karylin Dawkins; brother, David Dawkins; mother-in-law, Nancy Fancil; sister-in-law, Donna (John) Troost; brother-in-laws, Thomas Fancil, and Donald Fancil, Jr. Nathan was also preceded in death by his father, Marvin Dawkins; step father, Richard Niedermeyer; sister, Amy Dawkins; and father-in-law, Donald Fancil, Sr. Rest in peace Husband, Father, Papal, Brother, and Son. A gathering of family and friends will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort W, 2022. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
