Nancy Helen (Henry) Waltenburg, 85, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Heritage Point in Fort Wayne.
She was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Nancy went on to graduate from North Side High School in 1957 where she met her husband, James Waltenburg. After high school, she went on to live in St. Louis where she taught underprivileged children how to play the piano. She then moved back to Fort Wayne where she worked at GTE for 35 years.
In her spare time she enjoyed doing word search puzzles, reading books, and playing the piano. Nancy loved making southern-style meals for everyone in her family.
She is survived by her son, Mark Waltenburg of Fort Wayne; daughters Beth (Rod) Woodruff of Indianapolis and Kari (Vinnie) Kice of Charlottesville, VA; grandchildren Payton (JT) Clark, Parker (Madison) Woodruff, Sydney Rappaport, and Susie Kice; and one great-grandchild Paisleigh Woodruff.
Nancy is preceded in death by James, her husband of 50 years; her infant daughter Angela Marie Grace Waltenburg; her sister Priscilla Dean Close; and her parents, Harry and Bessie Henry.
A visitation will be on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46815. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 1:00 PM, with visitation one hour prior, at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46815. Burial to follow at Lindenwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made out to the Alzheimer’s Association.
