Nancy Jean Halaburda

Nancy Jean Shirley Halaburda, 66, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on August 23, 2024. Nancy was a lifelong community member of Fort Wayne. She attended Harrison Hill Elementary and Geyer Middle Schools and then became an Archer at South Side High School. She later attended IPFW and Indiana University Bloomington to pursue her degree in English Literature. She was an active community member serving as the president of the South Side Alumni Association and president of the Fort Wayne Ice Skating Club. She had a 33 year career with the Fort Wayne Komet Hockey Club as their accountant and controller. She was hard-working and loved to travel. She enjoyed various fitness adventures with Fort Wayne running groups and My Peak Challenge. She is survived by her two daughters, Autumn Stauffer and Meghan Sinclair. She is preceded in death by her parents, Belford (Bill) and Gwendolyn Shirley; her husband, Joseph Stanley Halaburda; and her sister, Margaret Kimble. She will be greatly missed. There will be a memorial gathering at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, IN on Thursday, August, 29, 2024 at 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
