Myron Lee “Mert” Wagoner, 79, of Fort Wayne, passed away on January 10, 2022. Born on October 1, 1942, in Roanoke, he was a son of the late Carl and Evelyn (Marks) Wagoner, and was a member of St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Fort Wayne. He proudly served his country in the Air Force, and retired from General Electric, after more than 30 years of service. He loved basketball, softball, table tennis, and music. Mert was an avid fisherman, and hunter, “He was truly one of the best all-around sportsmen we have ever known.” He is survived by his wife of more than 53 years, Sandra (Bubb) Wagoner; children, Teresa Wagoner, and Christopher Wagoner; grandchildren, Samantha Wagoner, Zachariah Wagoner, and Gabe Wagoner; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Sandra Rumsyre, and Ed Wagoner; and his loving dog Cody, who always stayed by his side. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Phil Wagoner, and P.D. Wagoner. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am, Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church 1502 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, with a Rosary service at 3:30pm. Burial will be in St Patrick’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Arcola. Memorial donations may be given to St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, or to the Monastery of the Poor Clares, 1175 300 W, Kokomo, IN 46901.
