Kenneth John Schaefer

Kenneth J. Schaefer, 80, passed away Tuesday Dec. 16, 2014 at the Hospice Home. He was the son of the late Louis and Lydia (Ohnesorge) Schaefer. He retired from Magnavox after 29 years of service, was a lifelong farmer and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 499. He enjoyed nature, fishing, gardening and his grandchildren. Surviving are his children Michael (Jeff) Schaefer of Indianapolis, Lisa (James) Foutz of South Whitley and Jon (Laurie) Schaefer of Fort Wayne; siblings Melvin Schaefer and Karen Phillips both of Ft. Wayne; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Preceding in death are his wife of 44 years Patricia (Craft) Schaefer and siblings Donald Schaefer and Mary Moss. Services will be at 11 Monday Dec. 22, 2014 with visitation 1 hour prior at Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church 6318 W. California Rd. Fort Wayne, Indiana. Visitation will also be held from 2-7 Sunday Dec. 21 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home 420 W. Wayne St., Fort Wayne, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to Suburban Bethlehem Music Minister fund or the Arcola Volunteer Fire Dept. Burial will be in Suburban Bethlehem Cemetery. www.klaehnfahlmelton.com
