Doris J Hoffman, 97, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Born on July 9, 1925, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Rump) Chamberlain. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, and was a member of the Alley Cats, for more than 30 years. She retired in 1989 with her husband as owners of AAMCO Transmission, Fort Wayne, as an elementary school teacher, and author.
She is survived by her children, Drew (Nancy) Hoffman, of Churubusco, Denise (Chuck) Gaff, of Wolcottville, and Diane (Mark Grieger) Straessle, of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Michelle (Pete) Kohler, Stacey Hartman, Lindsay Lackland, Jennifer (Josh) Behr, Nathan (Jess) Straessle, Leslie (Harrison) Heller, Lindsey (Daniel) Eggold, and Jacob (Derren) Gaff; 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. She was also preceded in death by her husband of more than 59 years, Dee W Hoffman, in 2005.
A Celebration of Doris' Life will be 11:00am, Friday, March 17, 2023, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 917 West Jefferson Blvd, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, Thursday, March 16, 2023, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne.
