Clarence K. Prince, 83, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022. Born on March 16, 1939, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, he was a son of the late Wilson and Bessie Lee (Lane) Prince. Clarence was a faithful member of Dupree Memorial Church of God in Christ, Fort Wayne, where he served as a Deacon, Usher, and Sunday School Teacher, for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force receiving an Honorable discharge after his four-year commitment. He then returned to Fort Wayne, and worked for International Harvester, as a Stationary Engineer, retiring after more than 30 years of service. He also worked at Dana Corp, as a Stationary Engineer retiring after 10 years of service. Clarence was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was an avid fisherman, who also loved to hunt, watch sports, engage in photography, loved to BBQ, and spend time with his grandsons. Left to cherish his precious memories are his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Jean (McClendon) Prince; children, Theresa (Chauncey) Johnson, and Diana (Donald) Brown; grandsons, Avery, Cameron, and Donovan; and great-grandson, Avery II; siblings, Beverly Prince, Gene Prince, Victoria (Ted) Prince-Whitehead, Melissa Prince, and Cora Sides; special granddaughter, Kianta Whitlow; God-daughter, Karise Cunningham; God-son, Tranell (LaToya) Bush; and special daughters, Loretta (Howard) Whitlow, and Kimberla (Marcus) Hudson; special sister, Gloria (Thornton) Jackson; special family friend, Mary Tinker; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends who will carry on Clarence's memories. In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Cato, Sarah Prince, and Helen Sides; and brother, Jesse Prince. A funeral service to honor Clarence's life and legacy will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Dupree Memorial Church of God in Christ, 1231 Hayden Street, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. A calling will also be held at the church on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 6 to 7pm, with a memorial service from 7:00 to 8:00pm. He will be laid to rest at Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne.
