Clair “Andy” Anderson, 91, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on April 25, 1929 in Paulding, Ohio to the late Donald and Florence (Murphy) Anderson. He graduated from Woodburn High School and was a member of the basketball team that won the 1946 Allen County tournament. After graduation, he joined the Navy during the Korean War and served aboard the U.S.S. Champlain. He was a farmer and worked as a city driver for OK Trucking Company and after retirement for the vehicle auction. Andy was a teamster and a member of the American Legion and Moose Lodge. He had the privilege to be on the Honor Flight in October of 2016. Andy loved IU basketball and euchre, was a woodworker and helped neighbors whenever asked. He was a very caring husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Andy is survived by his wife Eleana of 60 years; daughter, Sybil Nusbaumer; grandchildren, Stephanie Othersen, Stacie (Nate) DeArmond, Scott (Janet) Schmidt, and Abby (Bryce) Steckley; great-grandchildren, Colten, Caleb, and Connor Sanders, Nathan and Marley DeArmond, Makenzie, Makala, and Mason Schmidt and Ethan Steckley; sister, Doris Gerardot; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister, Phyllis Ormann. Arrangements entrusted to D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Funeral Home.
