Carl William Sank, 91, passed away peacefully, February 28, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born August 7, 1931, in Lincoln, IL the son of Harry and Lois Sank. Carl was a 33 year survivor of cancer.
Carl graduated from Lincoln High School in Lincoln, IL and earned his Masters from Illinois State and earned his Bachelors from Denver University.
He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. He retired from GTE/Verizon. Carl was an avid IU Fan.
He was a doting and loving father, grandfather great grandfather and enjoyed spending time at the lake.
Carl is survived by his children, Eric (Kim) Sank of Fort Wayne, IN; Gary Sank of Jimmerson Lake, Angola, IN; sister Judy Vincent of Lincoln, IL; grandchildren, Keri (Dan) Colvin, Fort Wayne, IN; Cory Sank Fort Wayne, IN; Delaney (Steve) Thomas of Hope, AK; Claire (Ryan Van Wyngarden) Sank of Indianapolis, IN; Andrew Sank of Bloomington, IN; great grandson, Samuel Thomas, and the mother of Keri and Cory, Teri Sank.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, June A. Sank February 10, 2014 and by his brother, Donald Sank.
A Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Saturday March 4, 2023, at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 450 W. Washington Blvd. Fort Wayne, IN, with a visitation at 10:30 am until service time. Private burial in Highland Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements by D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home 1320 E.
