BETTY J. PARMETER, 85, of Fort Wayne, died on Sunday, March 31, 2013, 3:29 p.m, at her residence. Born May 28, 1927, in Columbia City, she was a daughter of the late Tony Miller and Stella (Hartman). She was a graduate of Larwill High School in 1945. She was Cafeteria Manager at North Side High School, retiring in 1989. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, League of the Blind and Indiana Association of Workers of the Blind. Surviving are her sisters, LaVonne (Harry) Chalk of Columbia City, Charlotte (Roger) Perlich of Fort Wayne, Dorothy (Harold) Buckenmeyer of Huntertown, Doris Peters of South Whitley, Marilee Teusch of Columbia City, and Marilyn (Ed) Ulshafer of Fort Wayne; and many nieces and nephews. "She was blessed not only by her sisters, but also by her many friends, neighbors and her wonderful caregivers." She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Parmeter, in 1984; daughters, Carolyn Parmeter, in 1968 and Paula Parmeter, in 1978; sisters, Rosemary Kerch and Pearl Days; and brother, Bernard Miller. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Father Msgr. John Suelzer officiating. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Preferred memorials to Masses or League of the Blind. Arrangements by Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road
