Virginia Lynn Orren Cooksey

Virginia Lynn Orren Cooksey, age 64, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021 at her home in Stafford, Virginia surrounded by loved ones. Born May 5, 1957 to Bobby and Peggy (Dempsey) Orren in Washington DC. “Ginny” is survived by her husband of 39 years Stuart; children Kevin (Katherine), Kelly (Byron), and Katie (Brandon); 7 grandchildren (Staci, Bennett, Hannah, Emmett, Isla, Connor, and Theodore); sisters Grace and Debbie, and brother Glenn; as well as several brothers- and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Bobby and Peggy and sister Judy. Virginia was a skilled baker and crafter. She enjoyed baking elaborate cakes for all occasions, hosting family parties, going to the beach each year, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered always as a wonderful caregiver and doting “Memaw”. A visitation for Virginia will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 20, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at National Memorial Park.
