Peter Michael Louis Goggi, affectionately known as Michael, passed into Heaven on January 20 2024 at his home in Hughesville MD. Michael was born to Louis Goggi and Joan Bell Goggi on September 3, 1944. He was born on the island of St Vincent and graduated high school in Japan. He learned Japanese fluently and studied Judo at the Kodo Kan and earned a black belt in Judo. After high school he served sometime in the Air Force. After he got out of the service he went to the University of Maryland and received his Master’s Degree in Nursing. He taught nursing at GW and worked at many area hospitals. He worked at Shamus Detective Agency, worked at an insurance company inspecting buildings. Michael and two partners had Video USA for years. Michael later became a videographer and filmed weddings, First Lady’s Luncheons, medical videos for Discovery and other television stations. In his earlier days he earned a pilot’s license and had a business with a partner and they would fly to Maine to pick up lobsters for restaurants. They also did transport of passengers and he just flew for fun. Michael loved to go to shows and Galas at the Kennedy Center and to go out for nice dinners at Chez Francois and The Inn at Little Washington with friends. He loved to talk to people and made friends anywhere he went. He was a mentor to people in the video business. In 2015 Michael married the love of his life and soulmate, Sherrie Agresti and they had a life full of love, fun, and laughter. Michael is predeceased by his parents, and his legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Sherrie, his sister Sandra Reese, his brother Wray Goggi, his nieces Stephanie Napier (Tyler Napier) and Gail Reese (Eric Skidmore), his grand-nieces Autumn and Lenora, grand-nephew Liam, his sister-in-law Ann Peters (Gary Peters) and niece Olivia Peters. A service to honor Michael’s life will be held on February 3, 2024 at 10:00 am at the National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia, 22042. The family and friends of Mr. Goggi invite all guests to lunch from 12:15pm to 3:15pm. It will be held immediately following the service at Patsy's American Restaurant located at 8051 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA 22182 in the back corner cove. No RSVP needed.
