John (Jay) Stanley Warner, Jr., of Arlington, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at home from terminal cancer. He was born in Washington, D.C., January 27, 1943, to Marietta Klee Pollard and John Stanley Warner, both deceased. He had one sister, Linda Pearse, also deceased.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Ruth Warner, son Michael Warner, stepson James Tolson, and stepdaughters Carol Udas and Denise Zastawski, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by a niece, Lisa Pearse Maguire, and half-siblings, Carol Warner and Stanley Warner.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War era and spent the last several years involved with the American Legion, Post 139, in Arlington, VA.
Funeral attendance is limited and private because of COVID-19; services will be held at Murphy Funeral Home in Falls Church, VA, followed by interment at Cedar Hills cemetery in Suitland, MD.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project would be much appreciated.
