Mable Frances McCarthy

Mable Frances McCarthy ne Fincham, 85 years old, Fairfax, VA. Died on July 11, 2023, after a well-lived life. Born in Adolf, WV, December 6, 1937. A proud daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she worked for Fairfax County for over 25 years. Always generous, she was an avid reader, a good gardener, and a skilled crafter. Preceded in death by parents: Edgar and Madeline ne Cowgar, Fincham, and five siblings. She will be missed by loving family members: sisters, Janet Sutton (John) of Elkins, WV, and Sue Fincham of Hyattsville, MD; son and daughter-in-law, James and Yvonne McCarthy of Benson, NC, and daughter, Karen Vargas of Manassas, VA; grandchildren, Tony Vargas (Rina), Andrea Vargas (Will), Jason Vargas (Kaitlyn), Kylan Styers; and great grandchildren, Dominic, Matteo, Remy, Alesiyah, Roman, Leo, Mila, and Kymani; as well as other family members and friends. At her request, no public memorial service will be held. Memorials preferred to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements by Demaine Funeral Home, Fairfax, VA.
