Vivian E. Lockyear

Vivian E. (Gass) Lockyear, 94, a long-time resident of Evansville, IN, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019. She was born in Eldorado, Illinois to Lawrence and Ann Gass, and lived most of her early life in Ridgeway, Illinois. Vivian was a registered nurse and retired from Welborn Hospital in 1986. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin J. Lockyear, an Evansville artist; her parents; brother, Rodney E. Gass in infancy; sisters, Marjorie Elizabeth O’Leary and Mary Rose Saucier, both of Evansville and niece, Susan Metz. She is survived by her brother, Bill Gass (Leila) of Oak Brook, IL; nieces, Micky O’Leary of Decatur, GA, Melinda (Tom) Cook of Jerome, AZ, Jennifer (John) Lindsey of Plano, TX, Sherry (Tom) Alexander of Evansville; nephews, Jeffrey (Ruth) Gass of Cottonwood, AZ, Rodney L. Gass of Blue Springs, MO, John M. O’Leary (Sharon) of Evansville, Tim (Angie) O’Leary of Sanford, FL; and step-daughter, Barbara Gamstetter, of Dayton, OH. A memorial service has been held.
