Robert W. Whitehouse, 88, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019, at Cypress Grove in Newburgh, IN. Robert served in the Korean War from 1950-1952 in the 1st Marines, Charlie Co C11. Upon his discharge, he returned to Evansville where he began work as a linotype operator and later worked as a crane operator at Alcoa where he retired. He belonged to the VFW, Masonic Lodge and was a volunteer firefighter. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and working in the yard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma; son, Scott; parents, Leslie & Margaret; and brother, Jack. Robert is survived by his children, Beth Lasher, Mark Whitehouse and Rick Whitehouse; granddaughter, Michelle Lasher; brother, Bill and sister, Jane. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Park Lawn Patrician Chapel Mausoleum, officiated by the Marine Corps League. Friends may visit Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel, with a Masonic Service at 12:15 p.m. by Reed Masonic Lodge No. 316. Robert was a generous man and found many organizations to support such as the Veterans, Children’s organizations, Shriners, Fire Department, Law Enforcement, and many more. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Deaconess VNA/Hospice, American Heart Association, Easter Seals, or a charity of your choice.
