Linda Nanny Axley

Linda Axley, 71, of Newburgh, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born November 25, 1939, in Kentucky. She retired from National Furniture/Flexsteel after 25 years of service. She loved sewing, country music and traveling. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Eugene Axley, in 1982; and sons, David McCarty and Clifford Money, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Denise (Robert) Carter and Cheryl (Todd) Benthall; sons, Timothy (Georgia) McCarty and Brett (Barbara) McCarty, all of Evansville; sister, Barbara Munday; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, October 31, 2011, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Robert Nall, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Linda Axley Memorial Fund at any Fifth-Third Bank.
