James “Jimmy” C. Nall, of Evansville, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013, at his home. He was born July 30, 1937, in Meridian, Mississippi to Ethel Hardin Nall and Truman Nall, but was raised in Beech Grove, Kentucky.
He was blessed with a talent that led him on a long musical path. Singing and playing locally and nationally for over 60 years, he worked with the best. Standing on stages that offered Country, R & R, Bluegrass, and Gospel, Jimmy sang it all, with too many places to mention. In the 60’s he recorded on United Artist Label. In the 70’s he recorded for Monument Records for 10 years and was produced by Charlie McCoy.
He had one #1 song on the old WJPS Radio Station and had one song that made it on the Billboard Charts. In his lifetime he recorded 32 singles, and three albums with his last being sold in Germany. He also loved being a pilot, scuba diving, and loving on his grandkids.
