Buffy Sue Baker-Nellis, 51, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, August 29, 2021. She was born October 1,1969, in Evansville. Buffy was employed by the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office. During that time, she was a Reserve Officer for the Newburgh Police Department. Prior to that, she was a flight attendant with ATA for 17 years. As a flight attendant, she was able to visit 93 countries and was avid about adventure. She was also a small business owner. During her formative years, Buffy was known as the girl with the long, blonde hair and red corvette. Buffy was greatly loved and will be missed by family and friends who will always remember her as the woman who was first to help in any situation. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her beloved dog, Bindi. Buffy is survived by her son, Noah Nellis; father, Steve W. Baker (Deborah); mother, Joyce Baker (Allen); brother, Jody Baker (Cindy), and stepbrother, Clifford Williams (Lisa); and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2021, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor David Pry, with burial in Hauschild Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
