Bettye L. Beard, 78, of Evansville passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024. She was born May 21, 1946 in Madisonville, KY to the late Thomas and Jennie (Rawlins) Summers.
She worked for T.J. Maxx for 17 years and was a member of Free Pentecostal Church. Bettye dearly loved her church family. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her great grandkids. Bettye loved watching sunsets at the riverfront.
Bettye was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Beard; sisters, Dorothy Wulff and Ella Belcher; and granddaughter, Kelli Salke.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela De Laney (Paul); step daughter, Donna Cosby (Sam); step son, William Beard (Kristy); grandchildren, Brittney Willoughby (Brad Horne), Christopher Willoughby (Cora Herron), Noah Salke (Laisha), Courtney Beard, Ricky Beard, Jordan Beard, Holly Cosby, and Clayton Cosby; great grandchildren, Caden Adams, Alex Herron, Kaleigh Willoughby, Jasper Willoughby, Christian Schauss, Colten Schauss, and Natasha Schauss; and many other family members.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Pastor Johanna Sumner-Damme. Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
