Sue Ann (nee Carpenter) Ranfranz-Keating, age 85, of Schererville, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 8, 2024. Sue is the beloved mother to Mark (Jo Ann) Ranfranz, Kristen (Dave) Ranfranz-Nolan, Kurt Ranfranz and Katie (Larry) Tetzloff; proud grandmother to Sarah (Daniel) Ranfranz-Rincon Hernandez, Hannah Ranfranz, Ian Ranfranz, Stephanie (Chris) Little, Bryce Land, Aly Tetzloff and Bri Tetzloff; great-grandmother to Taylor and Caleigh Little; and cherished sister to Gwen Lane and the late Lyn Carpenter. She is also survived by many other extended family members, including her Two Hearts Home For Seniors family. Sue is a 1956 graduate of Dyer High School. She attended Valparaiso University, Indiana University Northwest and Purdue Calumet. She obtained her Master Degree in Education and continued furthering her studies. A dedicated educator, Sue retired as a school teacher with Crown Point Community Schools after many years of service. She was a vibrant member of the Red Hat Society, where she served as Queen Mum. She also served as Membership Chair for the AAUW (American Association of University Women) and belonged to "New Friends." Sue's zest for life was evident in her love for ballroom and line dancing, her talent for painting, and her enthusiasm for scrapbooking. Above all, she found immense joy in attending her grandchildren's events and cheering them on as their biggest supporter. Sue's artistic spirit, infectious energy, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 3:00 - 7:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307.
