Marcella M. Young

Marcella Mae Young, age 87, of Dyer, Indiana passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021. Marcella was born April 21, 1933 to the late John and Nellie (Shepherd) Rans in Pulaski County, IN. On November 17, 1951 she married Robert E. Young. They spent 48 years together prior to his passing in April of 2000. She leaves behind her children; Diane (Ted) Chalupsky, Bev (Kevin) Batchelor, Mark Young; one grandchild, Ryan Clark; three great-grandchildren, Elijah Clark, Olivia Clark, Noah Clark; along with many cherished friends. Marcella will be remembered by her gardening abilities, wonderful sewing projects, and mastering crafts. She also liked to attend family reunions, go bowling, make memories with her grandchildren, and had a great time playing Yahtzee. Her warm smile filled rooms and she loved being a support system to her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Young; parents, John and Nellie Rans; two grandchildren, Chad Alan Clark, Jason John Clark; and nine siblings, Beulah (Rolland) Werblo, Eugene (Ethel) Rans, Richard (Agnes) Rans, Leonard Rans, Myrtle (Red) Ashcraft, Pearl (Leland) Frailey, Nellie (Rex) Cummins, Opal (John) Campbell, and Frances (Kay) Rans. Family and friends may visit on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 11AM - 1PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home - 8178 Cline Ave. Crown Point, IN 46307. A Funeral Service will begin at 1PM to honor Marcella. Pastor Bob Parnell will be officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
