James Marvin Dykes

James M. Dykes age 54 of Griffith, IN passed away July 13,2017, James is survived by his daughter Amanda (Christopher) Mays, one grand pig Ruger, his mother Ruth Dykes, two sisters, Sharon (Donald) Wooden, Karen Dykes (Laurel Hata), niece Brittany (Corey) Karr, many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, his buddy and friend, Bodie. Preceded in death by his father, Cleveland Dykes. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., Schererville, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm (until time of service) at the Funeral Home. James enjoyed car rides in his Mustang; he was a lover of Star Wars, Star Trek, and Dr. Who. He was a hard worker and a loving father. He enjoyed fishing, biking and camping. James was employed at American Sale for 32 years as a spa tech; he was a generous, forgiving and thoughtful man. He was a builder and a Mr. Fix-it for everyone. He was kind hearted, and in life, he never met a stranger. He was a devoted family man, and one of his passions in life was helping others and children with special needs.
