William D. Hankins, 79, of Columbus passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Four Seasons Convalescent Center.
He was born in Vevay, Indiana November 4, 1943, the son of William Stanley and Thelma Lowe Hankins. He married Janet Rose Roessler in Vevay.
He was an Executive Manager at Cummins Company, retiring after 35 years of service. A member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, he enjoyed playing golf and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Janet R. Hankins of Columbus; son, Shane (Nancy) Hankins of Columbus; brothers, Marty Hankins and Steve Allen both of Vevay; grandchildren, Sawyer (Kara) Hankins of Greenwood, Alexa (Jake) Friedly of Greenwood, Rylee (Jake) Carlile of Columbus, Max and Mason Hankins of Indianapolis; step-grandchildren, Alexa Zeller and Triston Perry of Indianapolis; 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Shawn Hankins.
A private funeral service will be conducted at Garland Brook Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Mark R. Teike officiating. Entombment will be in Garland Brook Mausoleum. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-reed.com
