Richard S. “Dick” Linn, 79, of Columbus, died at 3:55 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Mr. Linn was in sales with Ingersol-Rand for several years and retired from the Agency on Aging in 1998 after 13 years, as a coordinator for Meals on Wheels and drivers to take clients to appointments. He was a passionate reader, a member of Sandy Hook United Methodist Church and Toastmasters Club and a former member of the Masonic Lodge. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street with the Rev. Robert E. Lay officiating. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until service time. Cremation will follow the service with private inurnment at Garland Brook Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
Born in Auburn, Indiana, Feb. 21, 1932, Mr. Linn was the son of Carl Linn and Lucille Gough Linn Wolford. He married Barbara A. Warfield in Columbus June 5, 1960, and she survives.
Also surviving is a son, Matthew S. (Jill) Linn of Columbus; a daughter, Elizabeth (Andrew) Wiley of Hope; a stepbrother, Robert Wolford; grandchildren, Kaylon, Christopher and Chandus Linn of Indianapolis and Eli Fee, Devon Smith, Hannah and Samantha Linn of Columbus; and a great-granddaughter, Lilly J. Fee of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Richard T. Linn.
