Leonard E. Covington, 79, of Columbus died Sunday, May 10, 2020, at his home.
Leonard was born in Lebanon, Indiana June 27, 1940, the son of William E. and Clarice Mae Corn Covington. He married Shelsie Lynn Gilley January 13, 1977 in Tennessee, and she survives.
He was a truck driver for many years, retiring from Heritage Transport. He enjoyed playing the guitar and loved country and bluegrass music. He especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren and the outdoors.
Surviving are his wife, Shelsie Covington of Columbus; daughters, Stephanie (David) Bowman of Columbus, Tammy Edwards of Columbus, Heather (Richard) Smith of Columbus and Ashley Covington of Columbus; sister, Mary (Bill) Borgman of Batesville; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step father, Albert Stater; brothers, Kenny and Denny Covington; sister, Clara Stater.
Leonard will be cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-reed.com.
