William Joseph "W.J." Hill

William Joseph Hill, age 76, of North Garden, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home with his family on Friday, February 11, 2022. W.J. was born on November 11, 1945, to the late Henry Clinton Hill and Margaret Harvey Hill. He had one sister, Dorothy Penn Martin, who passed away in 2014. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Eppard Hill; son, William Chadwick “Chad” Hill and daughter in-law, Kimberly. He had two grandchildren, Kaylie and Kyle Hill. W.J. graduated from Nelson County High School, Class of 1963. After that, he worked at Comdial for many years, working his way up to Materials Manager. During this time, he also served in the Army for 2 years as a Mechanic and pursued an Associate’s Degree in Business Management from Piedmont Virginia Community College. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, fishing trips with family and friends, classic car restoration, and watching UVA sports. Visitation will be held from 2 until 4 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2022, at Teague Funeral Service, 2260 Ivy Road, Charlottesville, VA 22903. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Teague Funeral Services, followed by interment at Mooreland Baptist Church Cemetery, 2255 Taylors Gap Road, North Garden, VA 22959. In lieu of flowers, W.J. wished for donations to be made to the North Garden Volunteer Fire Company, Post Office Box 33, North Garden, VA 22959. The family requests that masks be worn when attending the visitation or funeral service.
