Mary Deborah Taylor

Mary Deborah Taylor, known to friends who loved her as Debbie and to family, Dede, passed away in her home the morning of January 10, 2023. She was born on May 28, 1960 to John and Maddie Taylor in Charlottesville, Virginia. Debbie brought a sense of comfort and joy to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, with a dull moment never to be had. She was a loyal friend, sister, and aunt, always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her caring nature and big heart endeared her to all who knew her, and her generosity and thoughtfulness will be remembered by many. She had a passion for shopping and finding good deals, particularly at Belk. She enjoyed finding a new outfit, complete with a new bracelet or necklace, to bring a sense of style unique to her. She loved fast cars, easily recognizable around town in "Izzy" or "Black Beauty" as she would call them. Her love for snowmen and Christmas was also undeniable, her home filled with decorations the entire season. She always went above and beyond to make the holidays special for her family and friends, there was never a Christmas day to be forgotten when Debbie was there. Debbie’s passing is a loss that will be deeply felt by all who knew her. Her beautiful smile, her infectious laughter, and her warm embrace will be greatly missed. She was a shining light in the lives of many, and her memory will be cherished forever. Debbie is preceded in death by her father John Edward Taylor Jr., her mother Maddie Taylor, her brother Michael Strickland, her step father Luther Bunch, and her nephew Bruce Bunch. She is survived by her brothers Gary Taylor and Johnie Bunch, her sisters-in-law Mary E. Taylor, Dana Shifflet, Carolyn Bunch, and Janice Strickland, and niece and nephews Chelsea and Alex Vaccari, Neil and Caitlin Taylor and children, Noah and Ezekiel "Zeke", and Bryan Bunch. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 2-4pm and a Funeral Service on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 11am at Teague Funeral Service in Charlottesville with a gathering to follow.
