Linda Dale Morris (Short)

Linda Dale (Short) Morris 61, of Charlottesville, VA passed away on Saturday November 19, 2016 at home after a brief battle with lung cancer. She was born June 15, 1955 at the University of Virginia Hospital. She grew up in Albemarle County. Linda loved everyone and those who were blessed to have met her always had a friend. She was preceded in death by her mother Gracie G Walton, father Benjamin M McCauley, step father Nelson (Dick) Walton and nephew Brian (Keith) McCauley. She is survived by her loving husband Bert C Morris, his three children, Libby, Ashley, and Brian, and four grandchildren. Her brothers, Benjamin M McCauley and his wife Carol of Keswick, VA Nelson McCauley and his wife Debra from Albemarle, VA her two sisters Wanda (Jean) Crawford and husband Kenny of Stanardsville, VA Judy (Bucky) McCauley of Barboursville, VA as well as many loving nieces, a very special great niece Dorian McCauley, who gave her the nickname “Lyn Lyn”, nephews, and many cousins, a very special friend Lucy McCauley, whom she loved like a sister. She had a heart of gold and her outpouring of kindness, love and generosity was given to all she met. She loved every moment spent with family and friends. In my beautiful Linda’s words of truth and advice that she was always willing to give, “The key to being happy is knowing you have the power to choose what to accept and what to let go.” The family will receive family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Teague Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Prize Hill Church. Interment will follow in Prize Hill Cemetery.
