Karen Wolf Taff, 59, a long-time resident of Carmel IN, passed away December 8, 2018, after a three-year battle with cancer. Karen was born September 23, 1959 in Indianapolis, to Hugh and Valera Wolf. She is survived by her husband Joe Taff, her daughter Ellen Taff of Charlotte, NC; her son William Taff of Denver, Co: her brother Gregg (Bonnie) Wolf of Huntington Beach, CA; brother Bruce (Jackie) Wolf of Carmel, IN; 10 nieces and nephews; and 9 grand nieces and nephews. Karen graduated from Purdue University in 1981 where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Karen dedicated her life to her family and to teaching thousands of high school students over her 34- year career. She taught U.S History at her alma mater, Carmel High School, for 32 years. During her tenure at Carmel High School, she was a member of the Carmel Clay Education Association and served as the campaign co-manager for several successful school board candidates. Additionally, she co-chaired CHS school improvement plan, worked on numerous professional development committees, and served as head debate coach. She will be remembered as a dedicated teacher with a love for history, a kind and caring mother, wife, daughter and aunt. Karen was a lifelong member of Carmel United Methodist Church where she was involved in numerous activities and events, including serving as a volunteer at Vacation Bible School and the church’s food pantry. There will be a “Celebration of Life” service at Carmel United Methodist Church, 621 S. Rangeline Road, on December 14, 2018 at 11:00am. At her request, in lieu of flowers, please bring a new book to be donated to local schools and libraries. Memorial contributions can be made to Carmel United Methodist Church Youth Ministry and the Carmel Clay Public Library Foundation (55 4th Avenue SE, Carmel, IN 46032). 
