Randy Scott Carter, age 62, of Bloomington passed away unexpectedly at his residence Sunday morning September 6, 2020. Born April 20, 1958 in Aurora, Colorado, he was the son of William H. and Shirley (Prow) Carter. Randy worked doing maintenance for The Quarters in Bloomington, part-time maintenance for the I.U. Credit Union and was self-employed as a construction worker. He loved motorcycle riding, travel, especially to different beaches including his favorite, Virginia Beach and shooting his fireams. In addition he loved spending time with family, especially his granddaughter, Kaia, cooking, grilling and eating out. He also enjoyed collecting beer steins. He was a member of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy (Wilson) Carter, of Bloomington, his son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Holly Carter, of Bloomington, granddaughter, Kaia Carter, of Bloomington, mother-in-law, Linda Wilson-Frye, of Bloomington; two sisters, Patty Kern, of Williams, Indiana and Jane Howe, of Solsberry and two brothers, Troy (Sheryl) Carter and William (Greta) Carter, both of Ellettsville.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Leslie Frye.
The funeral service will be on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St. with Pastor John Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to any organizations that support Huntington’s Disease research or to the family for a college fund to be established for Kaia, his granddaughter.
