James "Bill" William Hansford Jr.

James "Bill" William Hansford Jr., age 89, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022. Bill was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late James William Hansford Sr. and Mildred Hansford. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Anna Hansford. Bill was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Indianapolis and retired from IPL in 1996 where he worked as an engineer. He was a graduate of Broad Ripple High School and Rose Hulman and served in the US Army. In the army he spent time in Korea where he taught english. He also earned his pilot license and helped his daughter and son-in-law purchase Beech Grove Bowl where he continued to participate in bowling leagues. His family will miss him dearly as he was truly the best husband, dad, and loving grandfather ever. Bill is survived by his children, Loren Hansford and Amy Seach (Scott) and grandchildren, Kyle Hansford and Josie Drake. Visitation for Bill will be held Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church, 6630 Southeastern Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana 46203, followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 PM. Bill will be laid to rest in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana with military honors.
