Clyde J. Atwood

Clyde J. Atwood 78, of Beech Grove passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on December 19th, 2010. Clyde was born March 15th, 1932 in Liberty, KY. the son of Gilbert and Ether Atwood.He retired from Ford Motor Company in 1988. He was a UAW Local 1111 retiree member. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and excellent role model. He served in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 276, VFW Post 5626, Loyal Order of Moose and the Masonic Englewood Lodge #715. He enjoyed going fishing, going to the casinos, and he loved to be with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Shelby Jean (Stafford), son David (Debra), daughter, Kimberley (Michael) Garvey, 4 grandchildren, Jason Atwood, Nathan Atwood, Jonathan Atwood, Stephanie Ramsey, Josh Garvey, 6 great grandchildren, his brother Clifton Atwood, three sisters; Emmaline Allen, Barb Reed and Wanda Luttrell. Visitation will be held Wednesday December 22nd, from 4pm-8pm at Little and Sons Funeral Home in Beech Grove. Services will be held Thursday December 23rd, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. www.littleandsonsbeechgrove.com.
