Ronnie Dean Eggleston Sr.

Mr. Ronnie Dean Eggleston, Sr., age 82 of Martinsville, Virginia passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024 at his residence after a decline in health. Ronnie was born on January 30, 1942 to the late Thomas Eugene Eggleston and the late Maggie Nelson Eggleston. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Vera Lee Eggleston Martin, two brothers, Wesley Eggleston and Thomas Eggleston. He was employed as a technician for Sprint and retired with 41 years of service. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church. Ronnie is survived by his wife, Evelyn Thomasson Eggleston, two daughters, Danette Camponeschi (Mark), Angie Purcell (David), one son, Ronnie Dean Eggleston, Jr., nine grandchildren, Christopher Eggleston, Tracy Eggleston, Rachel Halbrich (Lee), Sam Camponeschi, Juliana Camponeschi, Allison Purcell, Emily Purcell, James Purcell, Thomas Purcell,one great granddaughter, Andi Wright and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, 5232 Preston Road, Martinsville, Virginia from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM with Reverend Clyde Murray officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
