James Earl Fink

James Earl Fink, age 65, of Doswell, Virginia passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marjorie Fink; and his sister, Judith Collins. James is survived by his wife of 24 years, Elizabeth Fink; children, Jessica Greiner (Donnie), Merrianne Seifert; Michael Seifert and Megan Seifert; grandchildren, Jaden, Amber, Savannah, Summer, and Donnie Jr., Elijah, Payton, and Sirenna; and siblings, Jack Fink (Janice) and Janet Trainum (William). He was a man of great character, known for his kind spirit and unwavering dedication to both his family and his work. After 38 years as a maintenance coordinator at Dupont, James left a lasting legacy, earning numerous awards and accolades throughout his career. His expertise and commitment to excellence made him highly respected by colleagues, and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need extended far beyond the workplace. If something needed fixing, James was the person to call—he could figure out how to repair just about anything, and he never expected anything in return. That selflessness was a defining trait, and those who knew him understood that his reliability and generosity were unmatched. In his personal life, James was a passionate guitar player and an avid collector of H.O. trains. He had a special fondness for antique cars, with a particular love for muscle cars—especially his prized Hemi Barracuda. He was also a devoted animal lover, having left behind many cherished dachshunds. Laid back and easygoing, James had a natural ability to go with the flow, making him a true friend to all. Above all, he was a family man—an incredible husband, father, and grandpa. His love for his family knew no bounds, and his presence in their lives will be deeply missed. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm - 7:00pm on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005 where a funeral service will begin at 7:00pm. Interment will be private.
