Glenda Miller Kolbe

Glenda Faye Miller Kolbe passed away on November 12, 2024 in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Glenda was born on October 6, 1940 in Fair Bluff North Carolina to the late Boyd and Mildred Miller. Soon after the family moved to the Sunset Park neighborhood in Wilmington. Glenda grew up there and most of her free time was spent riding horses. She graduated from New Hanover High School and got married. She lived in New York and continued working with horses. She came back to Wilmington and raised her children. She stayed in the Wilmington area except for a short stay in Virginia. She returned to Wilmington to take care of her mother. She spent the last 12 years of her life living on a farm in Virginia with her daughter, playing with the animals and tending to flowers. She loved roses. Glenda is survived by her daughter Cheryl Turner(Michael), her son Colin Kolbe, her grandchildren Amanda Mercer and Jack Kolbe, her sister in-law Bonnie Miller, 2 special nephews Howard Miller(Mary), Marvin Miller(Jan), 2 special grand nephews Tyler Miller and Kyle Miller, her uncle Jim Bennett (Jane Ellen), her aunt Carol Bland (James) and many cousins. She leaves behind her devoted dog, Kelty, who will remain with Cheryl. Services are private
