JAMES A. CAMPBELL
1957 - 2013
Jim Campbell passed away on April 12, 2013.
Jim was born in Gary, Indiana on March 29, 1957. His parents, James and Rosalie (Rose), subsequently moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas, where Jim spent his formative years. He attended Mountain Home High School and after graduation, packed his bags and headed for the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He was a brilliant mechanical engineer and after college, got his first job with a small architecture firm in Fayetteville. He moved to Arlington, Virginia in 1980, where he began a very successful career in engineering that spanned 30 years, working for LBC & W, DMJM and finally, Jacobs Engineering. Jim is survived by his sister Laurie and husband Joe and his brother Jeff and wife Gloria, along with five handsome nephews, (not to mention his Scottish Terrier, Cassie). Jim's interests outside work were eclectic and ranged from golf to the collection of antiques, especially of the Civil War variety. His favorite hobby was music. He loved nothing more than to sit around with friends, play guitar and sing his favorite songs. Jim Campbell was a lot of things to a lot of people, but in the end....he was a good man and a good friend who will be missed by many. All services will be held at Murphy's Funeral Home in Arlington, VA. The visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. And the funeral service will be held Wednesday morning, April 24 at 11 a.m
