Jane McVitty Maltese joined her beloved husband, Col.(ret) Edward Maltese and our Lord Saturday,
April 2, 2011 peacefully with her son Edward by her side. Jane resided in Mount Vernon area of
Alexandria for over 40 years. Born and Raised in Belfast Northern Ireland December 30, 1920
Graduate of Trinity College Dublin Ireland. A World War II Bride married for 64 years and now they
continue their great love story together in eternity.
Jane was active in supporting the Army communities over many years. Served on various volunteer
committees and suggested the Maroon Berets for the VII Corp LRRP's which they proudly wear to this
day. She had worked for the American Embassy in London, USO was a nurse and also a licensed
Beautician, Past member Lady's Auxillary of The Knights of Columbus
Jane loved her family, her Lord, her Church and friends. Full of fun and laughter she enjoyed life to
the fullest. Jane was a past member of the Ft. Belvoir OWC, OWC Bowling League. The best
conversationalist you could fmd, well versed in today's topics as well as those in the past. Above all
Jane was a true Lady and we will all miss her.
Survived by: Dorothy O'Connell (sister)three children Edward J. Maltese, Laureva A.
Stottlemyer, Deirdre L. Maltese and husband Billy Martin, Jr,2 Grandchildren Benjamin
Stottlemyer,Sandra M. Perry and husband Stephen, 2 great grandchildren Cameron and Ryan, Joanne
McVitty sister-in-law.nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her true love Edward Vincent Maltese, infant son, William J.Maltese, 2 brothers
Robert, MeVitty, William MeVitty parents William J MeVitty and Mary Sands MeVitty.

Funeral Service: Thursday, April 14,2011 2pm at
Fort Belvoir Woodlawn Chapel officiating Monsignor Hill Col, USArmy
A private Internment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
