Memorial Oaks Funeral Home is committed to creating a meaningful funeral experience for you and your loved ones. We do that by tailoring our services to each individual. For someone, that might mean a witness cremation with a traditional funeral service, often in accordance with religious and cultural customs. For another, it could mean a contemporary celebration of life. We believe everyone should have the memorial service they desire.

We find ways to personalize a funeral service to reflect the passions and beliefs of the person being honored because every life has its own beauty. Our spacious chapel and funeral home

Memorial Oaks Funeral Home has a large chapel that serves all faiths. The chapel has pew seating and a capacity for up to 250 people, making it ideal for larger funerals. It’s wheelchair accessible, which is an important consideration for friends and family with mobility concerns.

The chapel has a warm, elegant feel with tones of white, cream, wood and gold. Although the chapel is traditional in architecture, its state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment supports multimedia memorial presentations (which we can help you create).

We have 4 staterooms—Pine Oak, Right Oak, White Oak and Live Oak—used most often for visitations before funeral services. We’re happy to find the one that’s right for your family’s needs. We also have a comfortable living room with plush couches and a coffee bar so you can sit with your family to talk through the many decisions that arise when arranging a funeral, whether at the time of need or in advance.

Over the past decade, we have made many updates and modernized the funeral home, including adding a space for catered events.

Reception space

Memorial Oaks Funeral Home recently opened an event space to give families a convenient option for catered receptions. With the capacity to serve up to 100 people, the space includes a grand piano, full bar and 60-inch TV to show slideshows and videos during a reception.

Our caterer will work with you to create a menu suited to your family's tastes and dietary restrictions. We can arrange anything from a casual wine-and-cheese evening to a formal sit-down meal with fine china and waitstaff. The choice is yours.

With more than 70 acres of beautiful and varied landscape, Memorial Oaks Cemetery has served some of Houston's best-known families. Our compassionate, professional team treats each family as if it were our own, with loving care and professionalism.

Memorial Oaks Cemetery has a selection of tranquil settings, soothing waterscapes, meticulously maintained grounds and grand structures. These elements give families areas for meditation and reflection on the lives of those who meant so much.

Reflection Lake Estates

With the palatial Texas Liberty Mausoleum, the exquisite Robert L. Waltrip Memorial Chapel and a serene lake as its centerpiece, Reflection Lake Estates is perhaps the most beautiful section of the Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery property. Created by the finest designers, developers and landscape architects, these 26 acres offer an exclusive experience replete with elegant details that provide the perfect environment to honor discerning legacies. Private mausoleums

At Memorial Oaks, you have the opportunity to build your own private mausoleum. Exclusive, built-to-suit sites are located within Lakeside Estates. You can choose from several estate options, including private family estates, private family mausoleums, bench estates and lawn crypts. Our commitment to design standards ensures the beauty of the grounds and surrounding estates will be upheld for generations to come.

Whispering Water Estates blends a waterfall with private family estates. A relaxing, garden-like ambiance is achieved in other parts with bench estates and boulder estates. Turkey Creek Estates combines hedged private estates, gated walled estates and family bench estates, creating dramatic, dignified memorials. For those who choose cremation, Memorial Oaks has a beautiful botanical garden with carefully considered touches.

We care for Houston

Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Oaks Cemetery are deeply committed to Houston. Both teams put on a variety of events throughout the year. On the 1st Tuesday in December, we have a joint night of music and remembrance for people to gather and support one another during the holiday season. We also offer an Easter sunrise service every spring on the eastern cove of Reflection Lake.

We honor veterans

Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Oaks Cemetery understand the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families. As Level One Founding Community Partners with We Honor Veterans, our staff is knowledgeable in the benefits available to veterans and their families. With respect, integrity and dignity, we will walk you through the steps of creating a veteran's memorial service that truly honors the life and sacrifice of your loved one.

We also salute our troops whenever possible. On Memorial Day, we host the Tribute to Heroes and Freedom event to honor servicemen and servicewomen. This patriotic occasion includes a flyover of vintage Air Force planes, an orchestra and a keynote speaker.

Caring for Houston families since 1955

Established in 1955, Memorial Oaks Cemetery has long been an important resource for the Houston community. It is the final resting place of many prominent Houstonians and people from all walks of life. As you enter the grounds, the first thing you will notice is the Memorial Oaks coach. Built in 1867, the classic, horse-drawn coach was likely in service into the early part of the 20th century. This recognizable artifact serves as a reminder of Memorial Oaks Cemetery's rich history and tradition.

Memorial Oaks Funeral Home opened on the cemetery property in the early 1990s. Both Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Memorial Oaks Cemetery continually make improvements to give Houston families the best experience.
