Unique cemetery features

Funeraria y Cementerio Del Angel La Piedad features a number of unique cemetery features that help to create a beautiful final resting place. At the cemetery entrance, you'll find a majestic mural created by international sculptor Elvira Cova. Finished in marble and concrete, it is one of the largest sculptures in the world.

Highlighted at the cemetery's main wall is another mural, "The Value of Sacrifice," which was created by one of our very own staff members, Ulises Vázquez Sotero, in 2006.

Our chapel

The cemetery's chapel has an architecturally modern appearance, faces the Plaza de Duelo and is surrounded by serene gardens that invite meditation and reflection. In addition to holding funeral services for the families we serve, this chapel is also the location of our Mother's Day, Father's Day and All Souls' Day masses. Each of these events draws more than 300 people to Funeraria y Cementerio Del Angel La Piedad.

Honoring veterans

Our Veteran Memorial Garden is a beautiful tribute to those who have served, where veterans are honored and remembered. We also hold a special annual ceremony on Memorial Day with the support and participation of the American Legion of Ponce.

History

Funeraria y Cementerio Del Angel La Piedad is located in the Magueyes District of the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico, and is Ponce's first private cemetery. The first service was provided on December 28, 1968. Today, we are a member of the Dignity Memorial^® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers.
