Bookhout Funeral Home has been serving the Oneonta community since 1917. As a full-service funeral home, we offer creative and personalized funeral service. We have spacious chapels to accommodate any size service, a warm comforting foyer with a fireplace and a newly redesigned reception area for hosting a gathering after your service.

Until recently, we also had a facility located in Otego. While that funeral home is longer operational, we continue to serve the families of Otego and surrounding area at our Oneonta facility.

History

Originally founded in 1917, Bookhout Funeral Home has served families in the greater Oneonta area for a century. In 1929 a fire raged through the building, gutting the entire interior. Within a few short months, the funeral home was completely renovated and reopened to the public. Today, our Bookhout staff provides service and care to approximately 125 families a year.
