History

Fletcher Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Keene, New Hampshire, provides burial and cremation services with a focus on quality care. Our funeral home and cremation services had an early start in the 1900s on Davis Street when Charles Fletcher saw the needs within the growing community.

Relocation and renovation

In 1933, our funeral home relocated to its present location at 33 Marlboro St. We moved into a mid-1800s colonial farmhouse that still houses the facility today. Over the next 70-plus years, restoration, renovation and additions have created the building that stands now, serving families well into the future. In addition, the building still maintains the aesthetic appearance and historical integrity our funeral home was founded on.

Sharing traditions

In 1957, Fletcher sold the business to Roger O. Schick, who continued to run Fletcher Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the same attention to detail for the next 18 years. He then passed along the traditions of Fletcher Funeral Home and Cremation Services by selling it to Thomas R. Eaton in 1975.

Under Eaton’s ownership, the funeral home's reputation in Keene continued to grow. With more renovations and the construction of an additional chapel area, Fletcher Funeral Home and Cremation Services was poised to become among the region’s most respected and capable funeral service providers. After nearly 25 years of providing for the families of the region, Eaton sold the funeral home.

Today, we’re proud to be a member of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers. Still managed and operated by the same dedicated and local staff, Fletcher Funeral Home and Cremation Services plans to continue to serve and honor the families of our communities for years to come.
