History of serving Missouri families

The history of McGilley & George Funeral Home and Cremation Services stretches back to 1909, when the George Funeral Home was founded in Belton, Missouri by Edward Kibbey George. The business became E.K. George & Sons when sons Alan and Richard joined and, in 1952, Sterling Goddard partnered with the Georges.

Generations of service excellence

In 1971, Richard’s son, Kibbey A. George joined the funeral home, becoming the 3rd generation of Georges to serve the Belton and Grandview communities. In 1974, Allen Meyer joined the business as a funeral director and embalmer. The George Funeral Homes then merged with McGilley Funeral Homes in 1983, with the Grandview location being managed by Allen Meyer.

Throughout the years, the McGilley & George staff has carried on the tradition of providing exceptional service while remaining committed to meeting the changing needs of our communities.
