History

Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes helps residents in the greater Lansing community with their funeral and cremation services. Each Gorsline Runciman funeral home strives for service excellence, and our reputation has been built upon 4 generations of our commitment to the communities we serve.

Funeral home founders

This commitment is deeply rooted in the work ethic of our founders. Floyd A. Gorsline began the business as a combination furniture store and undertaking operation at our Williamston location in 1903. The highest standards of quality and professionalism were the hallmark of F.A. Gorsline and Sons.

With the merging of the Gorsline Runciman Company and the Ball Dunn Funeral Home of Mason in 1972, Ball Dunn’s prestigious tradition was embraced. Angus MacDonald founded the Mason firm in 1868 as a carpentry and undertaking business. Again, their sensibilities and meticulous attention to detail formed an exceptional approach to funeral service.

Continuing our legacy

Today, we continue to adhere to the values and principles of our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers. While the funeral service industry has evolved over the years, we have found these tenets to still be suited to providing compassionate care to our families.
